The Prophet (peace be upon him) said:
“Whoever build a mosque for Allah – be it large or small – Allah will build for him a house in Paradise.”
(Sunan al-Tirmidhî)
Mosques are the heart of the Islamic life. They serve for prayers, for events during Islam’s holiest month Ramadan, as centres for education and information, places for social welfare, and also for dispute settlement. Mosques are as old as Islam. According to Islamic tradition, the Prophet Muhammad helped in the construction of the first mosque in the city of Medina.
There is great reward in building a mosque for Allah’s sake. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “Whoever build a mosque for Allah – be it large or small – Allah will build for him a house in Paradise.” (Sunan al-Tirmidhî)
The building of a mosque is a way for a person to continue to earn blessings after death. You can donate to construct the house of Allah in your name or loved ones in rural communities across Africa and Asia.
Main areas of donation
Prayer Space (Musalla): £100
Paying for a prayer area (massala) is as important as building a mosque. With your £100 donation you are contributing to the whole building project and giving a much-needed community a dedicated place to pray for years to come. Your £100 donation per masalla contributes towards the building costs of the mosque, prayer hall and wudu facilities.
Donate £100 a prayer space (masala) in your name or a loved one.
The Ultimate Ongoing Reward – Sadaqah Jariyah
Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, when a person passes away, all his actions terminate but three:
- Knowledge through which people benefit
- Sadaqah Jariyah (continuing charity)
- And a pious child who makes Dua (supplication) for the parents
One of the best forms of continuous charity (Sadaqah Jariyah) is to build a masjid in your name and your loved ones. People will perform salah and other righteous deeds in the masjid. Therefore, in return, you and your loved ones will get rewarded for all these good deeds.
Build A Small Mosque
A small communal mosque constructed in rural villages of Asia will accommodate 40-50 persons in Pakistan and 50 to 200 people in Africa at one time.
A mosque will consist of:
- Main hall
- Wadu Area
- A toilet
- Water Supply & Electrification
Build A Medium Mosque
The poverty-stricken villages in Asia and Africa are in desperate need of mosques and hundreds of villages are still without a secure place to pray. Villagers are often exposed to harsh weather conditions during prayer times and community gatherings due to the lack of sheltered prayer facilities. We will be reaching out to people who live in remote and less fortunate areas in Asia and Africa. People will be enjoying clean and spacious prayer rooms with a wudu (ablution) area – all fully furnished and equipped.
In Africa, in particular, the Muslim communities are in need of a well-built standard sizable mosque, to accommodate the growing number of Muslims living in their communities. Most of these communities travel to neighbouring villages to pray due to the lack of a mosque. The old mosques that already exist in the community are made of mud and are unsafe to pray due to crack in their walls and ceiling.
These mosques are small and most people pray outside of the mosque under scorching heat. In the rainy season the lack of space does discourage most Muslim to attend normal daily prayers.
To provide a safe, secure and comfortable praying environment we will build medium mosques in replacement of mud mosques. A medium mosque will have a larger praying area, which will increase the praying capacity for locals.
The mosque will be also utilized for Dawah activities, Islamic conferences, collective night zikar, maulud nabi celebrations etc.
A mosque small mosque will consist of:
- Main hall
- Wadu Area
- A toilet
- Water Supply & Electrification
- A separate praying area for women in Africa.
A medium mosque will accommodate 100 people in Asia and 250 to 300 people in Africa.
Large or Jummah Mosque in Africa
The project is about building a large mosque complex for congressional Jummah prayers as well as the five daily prayers.
The mosque is composed of
- A main mosque building
- A separate women praying ward
- A toilet
- A wudu area.
The total accommodation capacity of a Jummah mosque is up to 800 people (280 people in veranda and 300 people in the main hall). The additional building for women can accommodate up to 220 women.
